PawQuiet is a soft hood that covers a dog's ears and sits close around the neck. Fireworks, thunder, passing traffic and grooming clippers arrive without warning, and a dog has no way to work out where the sound is coming from or when it will stop. Everyday street noise counts too: traffic, deliveries and building work.

The hood muffles part of that noise and gives a dog something snug against the head and ears. Many owners find their dog settles more easily with one on.

It leaves the eyes and muzzle completely clear. Your dog can see, breathe, pant and drink normally while wearing it.

It is also useful in the first weeks with a new or foster dog, while every sound in the house is still unfamiliar. Introduce it on a quiet afternoon, in short sessions, before you need it.

  • Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle.
  • Air dry flat.
  • Do not bleach, iron or tumble dry.
Use and safety information
  • Supervise your dog the whole time the hood is on.
  • Take it off if your dog paws at it, freezes or tries to back out of it.
  • Never leave it on an unattended dog, or on a dog in a crate.
  • Do not use it on a dog that is overheating or struggling to breathe.
  • Check the fit every time. A hood that is too tight is worse than no hood.

How to use it

  • Gather the hood and slide it over your dog's head from front to back.
  • Settle the ears inside so nothing is folded over.
  • Check the fit: two fingers should slide easily between the fabric and the neck.
  • Leave it on for short periods first, at home, with nothing stressful happening, so your dog learns it is nothing to worry about.
